dea's STORY

I’m excited to share my work with you all and would like to tell you why I love creating recipes to enhance your weight loss journey…

I was born and raised in a small rural community in Southern Alberta. My father was a farmer and my mother a homemaker extraordinaire. My exposure to preparing meals from scratch along with baking and canning began at a young age.

Once I left home my weight steadily increased as I indulged in unhealthy packaged and fast foods that I never had growing up. My food choices were unbalanced and not much thought went into preparing or planning meals. Some days I wouldn’t eat and other days I would over eat.

I married in 1997, around 40 pounds heavier than when I left home five years earlier. In 1999 our first son was born. A year later I became pregnant with our second son and I was 60 pounds heavier. I would battle and lose 50 pounds doing various methods of weight loss, only to rebound and gain it all back. This is something I would repeat multiple times. I took pride in cooking healthy meals and baking

treats for my family only to overindulge on even the healthy meals. In the fall of 2003, I became pregnant with our daughter at the heaviest I had ever been … 210 pounds. My weight continued to climb, and I was in denial of how heavy I had become.

In 2011 I decided once again to try to lose weight. I had surpassed the 270-pound mark and been actively dieting for about a month when I heard about the Ideal Protein program. I was ready and eager to get the job done! I quickly realized that I could cook and prepare meals using compliant ingredients and protein packs. It was comforting and enjoyable, and the creating really became a bit of a passion. In a short 6 months I took my weight down to 160 lbs and was super excited to be done! Unfortunately, I walked away and did not do phase 2, 3 or learn anything about what maintenance should look like. Needless to say, I was soon up 20, 30, 40, 60 and by 2014 I had gained 80 pounds!!!!

I knew the program worked so I decided to commit again. Ironically a very good friend and I booked at the same clinic, the same week and again the pounds melted away. I became a very active and passionate “poster” of my creations in our clinic’s private FB group and in 2015 I started to coach part-time and continue to share my creations in online groups and support pages. I also began bringing my creations to work so that clinic users could do taste testing and be exposed to different ways of cooking & baking protocol meals using their IP protein packets. I also began sharing recipes with other coaches and clinics along the way.

I love to coach clients and see how they are changing their lives! All of our journeys are unique, and the obstacles vary. Clients are constantly teaching me how to be a better coach and how to keep succeeding on my own personal journey. My clients are fantastically receptive to my requests for them to try my creations and have helped me grow my recipe collection and keep my passion burning!

In 2018, I partnered with Renee Lynn to broadcast a weekly live low-carb cooking show on FB. We love to talk IP protocol, share recipes and I get to create our viewers favorite recipes! Collaboration with other clinics and coaches has been an amazing tool on this journey! The more we share, the more we all learn and grow! I’ve been dreaming about creating my own cookbook for so long! I’m extremely excited and have plans for several more cookbook versions in the near future. I have hundreds of recipes to share, with more being created all the time. I hope they will become a useful, tasty tool on your journey to weight loss success and health transformation.

Sending you all much love & gratitude as I continue working passionately on creating low carb, low sugar recipes!
